[Rumori] film suggestions

as a surprise add-on class this school year I was asked to teach a film 
class! I have just a bit of experience making films, but I am a watcher. 
Can anybody recommend any great shorts to show my students? Or suggestions 
on the "philosophy of editing" that I can share with the teens? I work in a 
high school and this class is the hands-on course that runs concurrent with 
a humanities film course. They are watching the "cannon" of films in that 
class, so I'd rather show them more independent works.

apologies if this is the wrong place for this questions, but I'm going 
crazy! any suggestions at all would be most appreciated,
