Message-ID: Hi folks, Below is an invitation I've sent out to various folks in the culture jamming community. I'm posting this here because we could still use a few more folks. If you have a way to get to NYC and you have something to contribute regarding the history/use of Culture Jamming, please consider joining us. thanks, Pan ================= Hello, From July 18 - 20 2008, 2600 Magazine will be hosting The Last H.O.P.E. Conference at the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City. The conference features presentations, panel discussions and workshops for those interested in hacking, security, culture jamming and the general exploration of technology. As part of the festivities, Sensory Research will be presenting a session on Culture Jamming and its intersection with technology, public participation, activism and creativity. The session will include brief explanations from each of the panel members about their work, then a larger discussion about the implications of culture jamming. The session will end with a question-and-answer period with the conference attendees. The entire session is expected to last 1.5 hours. The particular date for the session will depend on the schedules of those on the panel. Sensory Research would like to extend an invitation for you to join us on the panel for our session. Your work has been valuable to the culture jamming community and we feel it would be integral to the discussion at the conference. There is no money being offered for participation. However, Sensory Research may be able to contribute a little bit of money towards air fare for those outside the NYC area. We hope that this opportunity to speak in front of one the largest conference audiences in the U.S. to spread the word about culture jamming will be sufficient to bring you to New York. This will be the last HOPE conference at the Hotel Pennsylvania and it will go down in history as a very important event. The entire conference is recorded. So, the materials from our session can be used for your various projects as well. Most importantly, we have the opportunity to turn on many young minds to the value of culture jamming as art and social commentary. For more information about the H.O.P.E. conference, please see this website... http://www.thelasthope.org/ Please let me know if you wish to participate in the session and/or if you have any questions. I'm very excited about this event and hope that you can make it out to join us. sincerely, Pan Sensory Research http://www.sensoryresearch.net
