Hello Rumori!
As Some Assembly Required celebrates its Tenth Anniversary this week, I thought I'd take a minute to bring you all up to date on a few things...

1) First of all, I've recently created a single web page where all of the weekly Q&A's are listed and linked to. Over 125 of you have submitted a wide variety of answers, making this a pretty successful little feature at the website. (Thanks!) You can check it out here:
http://www.some-assembly-required.net/blog/2009/01/sar-q-2006-2008.html

2) We've recently broadcast new interviews with Mashup artist Go Home Productions and Turntablist DJ Qbert. You can download these and practically all of our 30+ radio features here:
http://www.some-assembly-required.net/interviews.html

Here's a full list of all the radio interviews we've done over the years: The Bran Flakes, Greg Carr, Mr. Dibbs, DOVentertainment, Emergency Broadcast Network, The Evolution Control Committee, Omer Fast, Steve Fisk, DJ Food, Jason Forrest, The Freelance Hellraiser, Jason Freeman, Freddy Fresh, Girl Talk, Go Home Productions, Steev Hise, Illegal Art, Christian Marclay, Negativland (twice, once with Don Joyce, and again with Mark Hosler), DJ Nikoless, John Oswald, Owen O'Toole, People Like Us, Public Works, DJ Qbert, Realistic, RX Music, Janek Schaefer, DJ Spooky, Steinski, The Tape-beatles and Wobbly.

3) I finally got around to releasing my second studio album as Escape Mechanism a couple of months ago. It got some nice reviews, including mentions in Electronic Musician, Wired Magazine and The Onion, and was on CMJ's RPM charts for a few weeks. You can find out more about the album here:
http://www.escape-mechanism.com/

4) Finally, I really hope you will all think about submitting tracks to a compilation I'm putting together with mnartists.org this Spring. We're looking for fifty-second tracks, composed of at least 50% post consumer audio. You all know what that means: sounds found in the media environment. The submission date is March 16, so you'll have exactly fifty days to come up with something. I would really look forward to hearing what the folks on this list would come up with!

I hope you're all having a good new year, and being as creative as ever. It would be nice to hear updates from all of you.

You can download our special Tenth Anniversary episode here:

Thanks for listening!
Jon Nelson
